Maintenance Mechanic

Maintenance Mechanic:

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The MAINTENANCE MECHANIC ensures operation of machinery and equipment. Individual is also responsible for Preventive Maintenance requirements set forth by management. Ensures the plant is running smoothly, quickly, efficiently.

The MECHANIC will:

• Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical equipment in operation, listening for problems, and the ability to operate measuring and testing instruments when required.
• Ability of using hoists and hand power tools.
• Document inspections and report on repetitive equipment failures;
• Troubleshoot minor low voltage electrical issues on equipment and scales; Knowledge of using Fluke Volt/Ohms meters
• Knowledge on changing rubber conveyor belts and bearings;
• Follow OSHA and plant safety requirements
• Basic computer knowledge e.g. email, Microsoft Word/Excel.
• Maintain expertise in Good Manufacturing Practice requirements to satisfy the business" quality requirements;
• Support compliance with regulations relating to product labeling, review of Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
• Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted
