Medical Biller/Collections Specialist

We are in search of a Medical Biller/Collections Specialist to join our team. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunit. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and efficient processing of medical billing, handling insurance claims, and maintaining comprehensive billing reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately process customer medical billing and insurance claims.
  • Prepare and submit clean claims to various insurance companies electronically or in paper form.
  • Manage and resolve all rejects or invalids appropriately.
  • Maintain and manage all billing reports to ensure collections and reduce denials.
  • Handle third-party recoveries effectively and accurately.
  • Ensure effective and accurate processing and posting of insurance/client payments.
  • Resolve discrepancies regarding inaccurate payment levels received.
  • Collaborate with Accounting and Clinic staff to ensure billing information is accurate and expedient.
  • Utilize best practices for insurance and patient collections while maintaining excellent public relations.
  • Work closely with the Fiscal Department and Programs to resolve issues regarding individual’s eligibility.
  • Understand collection practices, clean claims, timely filing guidelines, and other regulations to reduce risks.
  • Perform office-related support tasks, which may include creating reports, typing, filing, faxing, answering telephones, taking messages, and making copies.
  • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required
  • Must have experience with Accounts Receivable (AR) management
  • Familiarity with authorizations procedures is necessary
  • Understanding of Benefit Functions is essential
  • Must be able to perform Billing Functions efficiently
  • Knowledge of MS Great Plains Accounting is a must
  • Prior experience in medical billing or collections is preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are needed
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
  • High attention to detail and accuracy is crucial
  • Must have problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance practices is beneficial
  • Must have a high level of integrity and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
