Day Treatment Coordinator

Overview:

For more than 35 years, we’ve developed programs to meet the diverse needs of clients with moderate to severe traumatic and acquired brain injuries. We provide treatment for post-concussion syndrome, stroke, memory loss, neurobehavioral issues and accident or sports-related head injuries.

Responsibilities:

The Day Treatment Coordinator develops, implements, and oversees the Day Treatment schedule. The Day Treatment Coordinator also provides individual recreational therapy services as scheduled.

Pay range: $78,000-$83,000 based on education and experience

Responsibilities:

• Independently develops, creates, measures, and plans appropriate programming to meet individual participant needs as outlined in care plan.
• Assures objective documentation and clinical communication is completed according to program standards.
• Develops and implements individual and group therapy services which meet the needs/goals of clients, the program, interrelate with other disciplines and supports company philosophy.
• Maintain progress notes that reflect the attendance, type and frequency of participant’s participation. Supply data to appropriate persons e.g. case managers, resident or family for documentation purposes. Assesses the quality and type of data required for an effective Day Treatment Program
• Communication with staff, participants, family members and outside therapists is to occur in consultation with the case manager, e.g. family conferences, payer conferences or other meetings as directed by the case manager.
• Works directly with the client and provides minimum to maximum assistance and/or supervision to promote the client’s success in daily living tasks, recreational activities and vocational/educational pursuits as identified by clients’ treatment plan (e.g. residential/hygiene routines, meal prep and planning, apartment/room upkeep, transportation training, pedestrian safety, money management/budgeting systems, walking, PT exercises, visual exercises) as needed.
• Participates in the on-call rotation as scheduled.

Requirements:

• Must have the ability to travel up to 30% of the time spent working in this position
• Must have the ability to occasionally lift and or move 50 lbs. or more
• A high school diploma along with a minimum of two to three years experience in the health care industry is required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred
• Knowledge of neuropsychology, substance abuse issues, behavior and cognitive rehabilitation techniques is preferred
• Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist (CTRS) or a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) – highly preferred or as required for any local state or licensing guidelines.
