Title: Outdoor/Marina Maintenance Technician

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Outdoor Marina Maintenance Technician to join our team at Building and Land Technology, “BLT”. As an Outdoor Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of our waterfront properties.

Your primary responsibilities will include inspecting, maintaining, and repairing various equipment and structures associated with docks and marinas.

This is a permanent, full-time position. During the off season you may assist with tasks indoors.

Key Responsibilities of the Marina Maintenance Technician:

  • Dock Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of docks and associated structures to identify and address any issues such as rot, corrosion, or damage.
  • Repair and Replacement: Perform repairs and replacements of dock components including boards, pilings, cleats, and ladders as needed to maintain structural integrity.
  • Marina Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and repair marina equipment such as power washers, pump out, and bubblers, hoists and gangways to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards, including proper installation and maintenance of safety equipment such as railings, lighting, and signage.
  • Seasonal Preparations: Prepare docks and marina facilities for seasonal changes, including winterizing equipment and structures as well as springtime inspections and maintenance.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs, including inventory management of supplies and materials.
  • Team Collaboration: Coordinate with other team members, including marina staff, dockhands, and/or vendors as needed to complete maintenance projects efficiently and effectively.

Qualifications of the Marina Maintenance Technician:

  • 2+ years of experience in dock or marina maintenance, construction, or a similar outdoor maintenance role.
  • Light trade skills experience including Carpentry, Electrical and Plumbing
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and physical stamina to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy equipment and materials.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to swim
  • Weekend availability is required.
