Job Summary: The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. This includes planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care based on the patient's needs. Key responsibilities include:

• Identifying patient needs and determining priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Developing, implementing, and coordinating individualized plans of care for assigned patients through initial and ongoing assessments.
• Initiating assessments based on the patient’s problems or needs, the physician’s medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.
• Performing therapeutic nursing interventions and managing the care of patients.
• Documenting care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and/or clinical priorities.
• Advocating for evidence-based practice care standards and supporting the adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
• Providing patient-centric care in alignment with the professional nursing practice model.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills:

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of recent Telemetry experience required.
• Support for admitted patients holding in the ED area.
• Float Requirement: Yes, within similar telemetry units within the facility.

Education:

Required Education:

• ASN.
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required.

Preferred Education:

• BSN.

Certifications & Licenses:

• ACLS - AHA
• BLS - AHA
• CEU Contact Stroke 4 Hours
• NIHSS
• NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license
• Telemetry Certification or Telemetry Competency Exam is REQUIRED.

Days Per Week: 3.00

Schedule Notes:

• Support admitted patients holding in the ED area.
• 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, 3 x 12-hour shifts.
• Every other weekend required.
• Holidays required as scheduled.
• No On-Call Requirement.
• Float Requirement: Yes, within similar telemetry units within the facility.
