POSITION OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Director of IT, the IT Infrastructure Manager directs a team of Managed Service Provider (MSP) engineers with diverse skills that collectively deliver reliable and scalable IT Infrastructure platforms. The Infrastructure Engineering team is responsible for design, installation, configuration, security, performance, monitoring, and maintenance of enterprise systems infrastructure.

This scope includes, but is not limited to datacenter compute, storage, and virtualization platforms; application and desktop virtualization; Network, telephony, and application server technologies; and operating systems.

This individual recommends upgrades and improvements and resolves complex systems issues and problems. They will work with IT, Managed Services Partner, Business Partners, and Vendors to support the infrastructure needs of company and will serve as a mentor to other engineers of the infrastructure team.

responsibilities:

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

  • Designs, Implements, installs, configures, maintains, monitors, and provides technical support of:
  • Operating systems and systems management applications.
  • Physical server hardware and platform management.
  • Virtualization: Infrastructure, Servers, and VDI.
  • Storage Systems: storage arrays, Fibre Channel, SAN switching/zoning, data resiliency.
  • In collaboration with the MSP, provides Tier 3 support to troubleshoot and resolve all infrastructure applications and hardware problems in a timely and effective manner.
  • Designs, creates, and provides ongoing maintenance for programs, tools, and processes for automating tasks.
  • Review existing Azure environment architecture and provide recommendations if re-architect or changes is necessary for management review and approval
  • Assist with Virtual Machine provisioning, migration and configuration in Azure while monitoring Azure consumption to prevent over usage and unnecessary spending
  • Works with subject matter experts in the IT department to streamline workflows and processes.
  • Works with responsible parties to ensure efficient and thorough support of regulatory requirements and auditing processes.
  • Develops, defines, reviews, and enforces infrastructure policy, standards, and guidelines to support business operations and technology implementations.
  • Evaluating and recommending new technologies to solve business challenges and ensure environments remain current. Implement cost management strategies by leveraging innovation and maximize service value to business.
  • Employs solid risk and security management practices, creative solutions, and suitable business judgement in delivering business solutions; ensures adherence to regulatory standards as well as compliance and confidentiality policies.
  • Analyzes industry, technology, and market trends to determine their potential impacts on the enterprise.
  • Analyzes the current business and IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommends solutions for improvement.
  • Responsible for the performance management of staff, coaching, mentoring, succession planning, salary administration and overall talent management building diverse and high-performing teams.
  • Works closely with and manages strategic vendor and partner relationships.

WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:

  • 8-10 years of progressive professional experience in IT
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience with VMware vCenter/vSphere, and VDI implementations using VMware Horizon
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools including PowerShell scripting, python/Perl, Ansible, Chef, or other similar tools
  • Experience managing Managed Services resources with offshore presence including the coordination and tracking of all deliverables.
  • Knowledge of primary Azure services (Virtual Machines, Active Directory, Automation, Monitor, OMS)
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft infrastructure and solution stacks operating in on-premises, cloud, and hybrid hosting environments.
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative and highly matrixed, fast-paced, entrepreneurial, transparent, and flexible work environment.
  • Provides leadership for delivery of 24/7 Networking services and operations.
  • Provides leadership for the disaster recovery operations.
  • Ability to build strong insightful relationships quickly; must have top-notch communication skills (oral and written); must be able to network effectively at all levels but especially at the executive and business partner level.
  • Strategic and insightful in their thinking, with good judgment, and an intuitive sense of where to look for opportunities to support the business from a technology standpoint.
  • Budget management, forecasting, portfolio estimating, experience required.
  • Vendor management experience required.
  • Demonstrated track record of building and leading high-performing teams toward the successful attainment of challenging goals in support of the corporate business strategy with strong results orientation and sense of urgency.
  • Promotes collaboration, accountability, respect, empowerment, recognition, and provides ongoing coaching to employees.
  • strong understanding of Identity and Access Management domain
  • Recent relevant experience supporting Microsoft Active Directory, Azure AD, ADFS, SAML, and OAuth
  • strong experience managing multi-factor authentication or single sign-on authentication within hybrid environments
  • Experience with Cloud based deployments on Azure
  • Working experience with Linux and Windows Operating Systems
  • Experience working with foundational enterprise technologies such as DNS, DHCP, PKI, LDAP, Syslog, and Monitoring systems
  • DevOps experience with Automation (Ansible, Chef, etc.) and Orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • Experience managing/deploying virtualization platforms such as VMware
  • Coding/scripting experience in Python or PowerShell
