Position Objective:
The Company is looking for an experienced candidate that can manage the audit and accounting team and assist the Controller and VP of Finance with other tasks.
Core Responsibilities:
- Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process
- Collect, analyze and report financial information to Senior Leadership
- Review current processes and recommend improvements
- Responsible for store and cash management audits
- Oversee AR, AP, Fixed Assets, credit card refunds, Payroll accounting and other tasks
- Oversee General ledger functions such as account analysis, account reconciliation, journal entries, etc.
- Perform General Ledger account variance analysis
- Generate weekly and monthly statements, including Profit and loss, Balance sheet and statement of cash flows
- Work with external and internal auditors
- Oversee payment of monthly sales and property taxes
- Supervise, train and coach staff accountants
To perform this job successfully, the following requirements are desired:
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting. A minimum of 5-7 years of experience is desired. Restaurant accounting is a plus
Communication: A successful candidate will be able to effectively communicate financial and other information to employees, team members, Store leadership, Senior Leadership and other interested parties.
Organization: The successful candidate will be able to organize, prioritize and track ongoing projects and tasks. The candidate will also be able to effectively launch, monitor and evaluate current accounting operations and deliverables.
Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Math Ability: Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word processing software and Microsoft Excel spreadsheet software.
