CT Tech - CT25-20010

Location: Long Island, NY

Job Duties:

1. Requires the utilization of appropriate kV and mA techniques to ensure quality diagnostic CT images.
2. Performs daily quality control calibration checks on all equipment to ensure the equipment is calibrated and working properly before any patient study is performed.
3. Injects patients with radioactive material as per the physician’s order following the prescribed protocol.
4. Observe all department documentation policies by filling in all appropriate logs, manuals, and charge documents, as well as, reporting equipment problems to comply with regulatory agencies.
5. Performs quality control, quality assurance, and safety tests. Follow radiation safety guidelines to comply with the ALARA principle.
6. Maintains develops and retrieves patient films and electronic data for Radiologist interpretation.
7. Order patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses 1-day before use.
8. Receives radiopharmaceutical on the day of delivery and verifies proper receipt as per policy and procedure.
9. Verifies activity level of the does before administration.

Skills:

• Performs CT procedures according to the prescribed protocols to ensure uniformity and accuracy.
• Exercises appropriate judgment to assess and respond to patient’s needs before, during, and after visits to the Radiology department.

Education:

• Requirements include licensing with NYS DOH in Radiologic Technologist, ARRT certification in Radiography and CT, and BLS certification.
• At least 1 year of CT experience; Graduate of Radiologic Technologist.

Required:

• New York State License (L.R.T), American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT and current CT certification)
