FULL DESCRIPTION: The Assistant Mechanic is responsible for the effective management and maintenance of equipment, this role involves transporting equipment to customer locations, conducting routine maintenance and repairs on forklifts, diagnosing operational issues, and providing IT support when necessary.
Additionally, the position supports operational functions by assisting the Operational Service Manager, coordinating procurement, and ensuring safe equipment operation during emergencies. Facility management duties include maintaining a tidy and safe workspace.

Furthermore, meticulous documentation and record-keeping of maintenance activities and customer interactions are essential. Finally, the role requires a commitment to ongoing learning and development to stay updated on industry trends and enhance expertise continually.

The selected candidate will be responsible for: -Transport equipment to customers' locations and retrieve them as required.-Execute routine maintenance and repair tasks on LPG and electronic forklifts to ensure optimal performance.-Undertake daily diagnosis and troubleshooting of forklifts, addressing any operational issues promptly.-Employ problem-solving skills on a daily basis to resolve complex challenges related to forklift functionality.-Offer comprehensive IT support pertaining to forklift systems, encompassing troubleshooting and technical assistance as needed.-Assist the Operational Service Manager in enhancing customer service delivery.

Coordinate the procurement and organization of tools and parts necessary for maintenance services.-Operate equipment swiftly and safely during emergencies to uphold safety standards and mitigate operational interruptions.-Oversee the maintenance of a tidy and orderly working environment.-Implement measures to uphold safety standards and promote productivity within the workshop area.-Review inspection checklists and upload them onto the service platform.-Systematically organize documents and manage service orders.-Diligently record details of maintenance activities, parts replacements, and all customer interactions.-Remain abreast of industry trends and advancements in equipment maintenance.-Actively seek out relevant training opportunities and certifications to continually improve skills and expertise.-Other duties as assigned by the Branch Manager and/or Operation Services Manager The selected candidate will also possess: -Proficiency in mechanical repair methodologies.-Demonstrated aptitude in analytical thinking and problem-solving.-Ability to visually detect mechanical anomalies.-Proficient operation of computerized diagnostic tools and software.-Competence in interpreting service and repair documentation.-Timely and efficient execution of repair tasks.-Proficiency in comprehending and executing work orders.-Skill in interpreting electrical and hydraulic system schematics.-Competent in independently repairing or replacing major system components, such as circuit boards, electrical components, hydraulic systems, mechanical parts, L.P. systems, power steering units, transmissions, and engines, with limited oversight.-Excellent verbal and written communication proficiencies.-Capacity for multitasking and working independently.-Advanced proficiency in customer service.-Proper utilization and maintenance of specialized and standard tools.-Diagnosis and repair of various models of lift trucks and their components.-Completion of all assigned Planned Maintenance (PM) tasks on customer lift trucks.-Conducting thorough PMs and engine tune-ups on diverse equipment models without direct supervision and within specified timeframes.-Safe and compliant operation of the service van, adhering to all safety regulations.-Strict adherence to safety protocols and company policies during all work activities.-Accurate identification and procurement of required replacement parts.-Comprehensive testing of lift equipment to ensure repairs meet quality standards.-Ensuring electric forklift truck batteries are fully charged.-Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Salary Range: $23-$25/hr
