Job Summary
The Work Study Student will support the Department of Communication Arts as a Stage Assistant on the Armstrong Campus beginning Fall 2024.Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.

Responsibilities- Assists the theatre with construction and maintenance of Theatrical scenery
- Hangs and focuses stage lighting
- Runs power cabling
- Operates Audio systems
- Props Carpentry
- Paints sets
- Lifts and moves furniture and job materials
- Up to 20 hours per week
- Flexible with schedule of availability
- Shifts available Monday - Friday, 1 PM - 5 PM
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements- Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.
- Must be Federal Work eligible.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Education- Previous completion of Stagecraft / Stage Construction coursework
- Experience with live theatre productions, onstage or backstage Familiarity with basic construction tools
Proposed Salary
$12.00 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.

- Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills
