Job Summary

The Work Study Student will support the Department of Communication Arts as a Stage Assistant on the Armstrong Campus beginning Fall 2024.
Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.

Responsibilities
  • Assists the theatre with construction and maintenance of Theatrical scenery
  • Hangs and focuses stage lighting
  • Runs power cabling
  • Operates Audio systems
  • Props Carpentry
  • Paints sets
  • Lifts and moves furniture and job materials
Shift Specifics
  • Up to 20 hours per week
  • Flexible with schedule of availability
  • Shifts available Monday - Friday, 1 PM - 5 PM

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
  • Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.
Other Required Qualifications
  • Must be Federal Work eligible.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Education
  • Previous completion of Stagecraft / Stage Construction coursework
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with live theatre productions, onstage or backstage Familiarity with basic construction tools

Proposed Salary

$12.00 per hour

This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
