Position Overview:

Our client, a leading technology company headquartered in Southfield, MI, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Corporate Accounting Manager. This role requires a CPA and at least 6 years of accounting experience. The Corporate Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the corporate accounting functions.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in financial accounting and reporting, as well as experience managing and mentoring a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the headquarters accounting functions, including general ledger activities, month-end and year-end close processes, and the preparation of financial statements.
  • Oversee balance sheet and bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP and IFRS standards.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to accounting policies.
  • Collaborate closely with external auditors to facilitate audit processes, provide necessary documentation, and address any audit findings.
  • Develop and implement internal controls and procedures to ensure the integrity of financial data and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Mentor and manage a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the team’s success.
  • Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial reporting as needed.

Qualifications:

  • CPA required.
  • 6+ years of experience in corporate accounting, with a strong understanding of general ledger, financial statement preparation, and reconciliation processes.
  • Proven experience leading and managing an accounting team.
  • Thorough understanding of US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external auditors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
