Medical Reimbursement Specialist

We are currently looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Reimbursement Specialist to join our team. The primary role of this position will be to process and follow-up on medical claims and reimbursements. This involves working closely with healthcare professionals, insurance companies, and patients to secure payment for medical services provided.

Responsibilities:

• Review patient medical bills for accuracy and completeness and obtain any missing information.
• File claims with insurance companies and follow them through to their conclusion.
• Understand and operate within the guidelines of both federal and state healthcare reimbursement laws.
• Data entry and data management related to medical billing and coding.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure all documentation is accurate and complete.
• Handle patient queries and concerns regarding the billing and payment process.
• Review accounts for possible write-offs.
• Research and appeal denied claims.
• Analyze complex insurance payments and resolve billing issues.
• Monitor and manage overdue patient accounts.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred. In lieu of a degree, a high school diploma with extensive experience in medical billing and collections will be considered.
• Knowledgeable in medical billing and coding procedures.
• Understanding of insurance practices and healthcare regulations.
• Proficiency in medical billing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to handle and resolve conflicts in a peaceful, professional manner.
• Strong organizational skills, and keen attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain and respect patient confidentiality.
