Job Overview:We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Individual to join our team as an Insurance Account Representative in our office at Mat Smith Insurance, Desjardins Agent.
You will be a primary point of contact for clients and a key part of your role will be to assist with growing our commercial insurance block. A secondary part of your role will be to support Personal lines (home and auto) during peak times and/or during employee absences.
As a key point of contact for our clients, you will provide expert advice, sell tailored solutions, and deliver top-notch service to new clients as well as existing policyholders. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, thrives in a dynamic team environment, and is dedicated to achieving personal and team goals.
Experience in one of personal or commercial insurance lines is required. To be successful in this environment you should have a strong desire to learn and grow, be a team player, be accountable to your results, be client focused, and be community minded.

Key Responsibilities:
- Client Interaction: Engage with clients to understand their insurance needs, provide personalized solutions, and offer expert guidance on commercial and personal lines insurance products.
- Sales and Service: Attract new clients and cross-sell additional products (or uncover additional product opportunities) to existing clients. Provide exceptional service to ensure client satisfaction and retention.
- Accountability for Results: Meet and exceed sales targets and performance metrics. Take ownership of your results and contribute to the overall success of the team.
- Client Retention: Handle renewals and policy changes for existing clients, ensuring they continue to receive the best possible coverage to meet their needs.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to share best practices, contribute to team objectives, and maintain a positive, supportive team environment.
- Tough Conversations: Confidently manage difficult conversations regarding claims, premiums, or coverage changes, maintaining professionalism and empathy while finding the best solutions for clients.
- Compliance: Ensure all interactions and transactions are in line with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- OTL/RIBO required
- LLQP is an asset
- Proven experience in home and auto insurance sales or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Ability to manage tough conversations with confidence and professionalism.
- Demonstrated ability to meet sales targets and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Knowledge of insurance products, regulations, and best practices in Ontario.
- Proficiency in using customer relationship management (CRM) systems and other relevant software.

Compensation:
$50,000 - $65,000/year salary plus bonus and group benefits. Bonuses can be a material portion of the overall compensation and are not capped.
