Key Responsibilities:
Job overview and responsibilities- Reporting to the MD of Supply Chain Inventory Management and Strategy, the Director-Inventory Forecasting provides direction to the required forecasting of materials, expendable parts and rotable components in support of the maintenance operation of the United Fleet
- Strategizes and directs team that implements new forecasting tools and models to better predict future demand for rotable and expendable parts by identifying the relevant drivers of demand that best correlate to future demand
- Responsible for the deployment of a structured approach to develop, implement and adapt new forecasting methods and tools in an ever-changing demand environment while ensuring that forecast accuracy remains at optimal levels over time
- Responsible for the development of inventory requirements and providing actionable insight to short- and long-term forecasts for the purposes of budgetary planning
- This position also oversees the PMA, Master Data and Asset Verification portfolios for Supply Chain
- Directs team that ensures right investment in PMA/OOPP parts as an alternative to OEM parts. Ensures sufficient throughput of PMA parts approval meeting annual goals
- Directs all aspects of the Master Data function, including setup of M&E, harmonization of M&E, data integrity, compliance, and regulatory-related changes to the master data set
- Oversees the Asset Verification team to ensure compliance with audit policies for tracking parts. Also, ensure alignment with the accounting on tracking high $ value parts
- Collaborates with various stakeholders across Tech Ops.

Qualifications
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- At least 5 years of leadership experience in supply chain, aviation, manufacturing, or related industry
- Understanding of supply chain operations, planning and business management
- Self-starter with high degree of initiative and ability to manage deadlines
- Strategic thinker with proven track record of implementing innovative solutions
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities
- Analytical approach to problem solving, with attention to details and a sense of urgency
- Strong people skills and ability to develop internal and external relationships
- Proven ability to communicate effectively and generate consensus amongst disparate viewpoints
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
- Master’s degree in supply chain or industrial engineering
- Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt
- Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) experience
- Experience managing a team engaged in procurement activities, material requirements planning, supply chain management, or expediting.
- Formal instruction in Lean Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement methodologies
- SAS statistical analysis
- Financial and budget/expense management
- Ability to establish and monitor policies and guidelines.
- Working knowledge of SQL or other data query languages
