The Role
Artemis is looking for a Detox Technician for the San Diego office. Under the supervision of the Site Director, the Detox Technician will be responsible for supporting various activities associated with the day-to-day operations of the research department in the conduct of clinical trials in psychiatry and internal medicine.
Position Type: PRN/Per DiemPay Range: $22-$25/hr
Location: San Diego, CA - no remote work
Travel: None
Work Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7:00am - 7:00pm
Responsibilities:
- Perform 72-hour detox observations, including taking vitals and monitoring CIWAS and COWS as per protocol
- Monitor and document client behavior during detox and conduct hourly observations, utilizing the Mental Status Exam and maintaining shift and observation logs
- Provide one-on-one supervision for clients in detox care, on suicide watch, or with other special needs
- Conduct regular checks of the facility, including room checks and perimeter checks, to ensure safety and security
- Observe and monitor client behavior, intervening according to schedule, individual treatment plans, and facility needs
- Assisting with the discharge process
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Manage crisis situations effectively and respond to emergency situations with compassion and professionalism.
Qualifications:
- 6+ months with experience
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Registration with RAD-T or as a Peer Support Specialist
- Able and willing to work 12-hour shifts during daytime hours
- Ability to multi-task, delegate tasks, manage residents care, maintain facility standards
- Strong professional and ethical boundaries
- Ability to manage crisis situations effectively and respond to emergency situations with compassion and professionalism.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with diverse individuals demonstrating patience, empathy, and commitment.
- Ability to remain patient and calm in high-pressure situations.
