We are in search of a dedicated Attorney/Lawyer to join our team in Oakland, California. The role primarily involves representing clients in legal matters, either independently or under supervision. The Attorney/Lawyer will be expected to provide effective legal consultation, prepare legal documents, and maintain a strong knowledge of substantive law and judicial systems.

The role involves working under stressful conditions and occasional travel.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide effective legal consultation and services to clients
  • Represent clients in state and federal court and agency litigation/proceedings
  • Prepare legal documents necessary for the effective representation of clients, including memoranda, legal briefs, opinion letters, and general correspondence
  • Maintain an excellent working knowledge of substantive law, state and federal judicial systems, including local court rules and procedures
  • Communicate effectively with clients, decision-makers, consultants, and counsel, both verbally and in writing
  • Work effectively under strenuous and stressful conditions
  • Respond to client, office, and court needs on short notice when requested
  • Travel occasionally, sometimes for extended periods of time
  • Conduct effective research and analysis of legal issues and formulate creative responses
  • Use various legal and management software such as 3M, Case Management Software, LexisNexis, and others for case handling and documentation. • Possession of a law degree from an accredited law school.
  • Must be a licensed attorney in good standing with the state bar.
  • Proficient in using legal software such as 3M, Case Management Software, and LexisNexis.
  • Demonstrated experience in civil litigation and claim administration.
  • Skilled in handling complaints and maintaining documentation.
  • Proven ability to prepare briefs and conduct depositions.
  • Familiarity with Management Systems.
  • Strong skills in briefing and presenting case strategies.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and prioritize tasks.
