We are in search of a dedicated Attorney/Lawyer to join our team in Oakland, California. The role primarily involves representing clients in legal matters, either independently or under supervision. The Attorney/Lawyer will be expected to provide effective legal consultation, prepare legal documents, and maintain a strong knowledge of substantive law and judicial systems.
The role involves working under stressful conditions and occasional travel.
Responsibilities:- Provide effective legal consultation and services to clients
- Represent clients in state and federal court and agency litigation/proceedings
- Prepare legal documents necessary for the effective representation of clients, including memoranda, legal briefs, opinion letters, and general correspondence
- Maintain an excellent working knowledge of substantive law, state and federal judicial systems, including local court rules and procedures
- Communicate effectively with clients, decision-makers, consultants, and counsel, both verbally and in writing
- Work effectively under strenuous and stressful conditions
- Respond to client, office, and court needs on short notice when requested
- Travel occasionally, sometimes for extended periods of time
- Conduct effective research and analysis of legal issues and formulate creative responses
- Use various legal and management software such as 3M, Case Management Software, LexisNexis, and others for case handling and documentation. • Possession of a law degree from an accredited law school.
- Must be a licensed attorney in good standing with the state bar.
- Proficient in using legal software such as 3M, Case Management Software, and LexisNexis.
- Demonstrated experience in civil litigation and claim administration.
- Skilled in handling complaints and maintaining documentation.
- Proven ability to prepare briefs and conduct depositions.
- Familiarity with Management Systems.
- Strong skills in briefing and presenting case strategies.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
