This position is located at 1411 Brazos St, Austin, Texas, but is eligible for telecommuting from anywhere in the State of Texas.TWC is not considering applications from individuals who require sponsorship for an employment visa, including those currently on student or postgraduate visas. WHO YOU ARE:We're looking for an IT professional who can translate business challenges into technical solutions, using their expertise and following our established SDLC. The ideal candidate is highly motivated with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
A customer-focused attitude and strong communication skills are essential.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:The Solutions Analyst is selected by and accountable to the Solutions Analyst Manager with the approval of the IT Central Intake and Quality Assurance Director, Deputy Chief Information Officer and Chief Information Officer. Performs highly complex (senior-level) computer systems analysis work.
Work involves planning and analyzing user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve Applications Solutions (AS) systems. Work is performed under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Maintains a reliable predictable work schedule. May provide guidance or oversee the work of others. May be called upon to work outside of normal business hours to complete urgent assignments or troubleshoot critical issues.
YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO:
- Perform analyses on assigned AS projects including but not limited to requirements for business, systems, and technical problems.
- Document analyses using approved software development methodologies, tools, and techniques to address project and automation development needs.
- Conduct joint application design sessions with customers and IT staff to define business requirements and develop software systems requirements.
- Communicate with users to determine requirements of new programs/systems or modifications to existing programs/systems.
- Prepare preliminary and detailed designs, process models, flowcharts, data mapping and other documentation for present and proposed business processes and automated systems to verify design logic and processes.
- May include training, presentations, or system demonstrations.
- Report work progress, risks, and issues to manager and leadership
- Assist in the diagnosis of problems associated with automated applications and writes detailed specifications for developing or correcting software for handling complex processes to improve system performance and/or accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and agency laws, rules, policies, and procedures including IT Handbook and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that govern TWC IT.
- Contribute to teamwork and communicate effectively.
- Promote an image of IT excellence.
- Perform other duties as assigned to maintain IT operations.
YOU ARE A GREAT FIT WITH:
- Experience as a systems analyst or a bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical or analytical field and three years of experience as a systems analyst.
- Experience conducting fit/gap sessions, performing system configuration, conducting testing including UAT and developing training documentation.
- Experience preparing project documentation such as: system requirement specification, functional design specifications, architectural diagrams, flowcharts, screen prototypes, wireframes, interface specifications, data migration rules, logical workflow charts, database design specifications and data warehouse design specifications.
- Skills in developing creative and workable solutions to complex problems.
- Knowledge of SDLC (agile, waterfall) principles and practices.
- Proactive and detail-oriented; able to manage multiple concurrent projects and tasks; and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated experience in system analysis, structured query language (SQL), problem solving and design work.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows and Office products: Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio and Power Point. Experience with Share Point.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with team members, customers, and management.
- Experience in TWC environment and technology platforms.
- Experience in Public Sector delivery.
YOU QUALIFY WITH:
- Three years of full-time experience in computer programming, systems analysis and/or program analysis or three years of full-time experience which provided general knowledge of data processing or systems analysis.
- Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.
