job summary:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to manage electrical and instrumentation projects at our chemical storage terminal. This role involves preparing specifications, overseeing design work, managing contractors, and ensuring the safety, performance, and quality of all electrical and instrumentation systems.

You will also provide technical support to maintenance teams, manage project costs, and ensure compliance with company standards.

responsibilities:

  • Perform engineering and design for electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Prepare, update, and maintain specifications for electrical and instrumentation work.
  • Review and check drawings created by both internal teams and external consultants.
  • Issue RFQs, evaluate proposals, and manage the purchasing, construction, and engineering aspects of electrical and instrumentation projects.
  • Inspect and review contractor work for quality, operability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Monitor and provide feedback on contractors' safety practices.
  • Assist maintenance technicians with electrical and instrumentation troubleshooting and design support.
  • Provide preliminary engineering and cost estimates for proposed projects.
  • Ensure all work adheres to company policies, including safety and quality standards.
  • Cooperate with colleagues to support project and business goals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience with industrial electrical and power systems (12kV, 480/120V, Transformers, MCCs, Breakers, Motors), instrumentation (Control Valves, Transmitters, Gauges), and automation systems (PLC, HMI, Servers, and various networking protocols like Ethernet and Modbus).
  • Experience with the design, specification, installation, and calibration of instrumentation in chemical terminals or chemical plants.
  • Familiarity with SCADA and PLC systems, ISA standards, and NEC codes.
  • Experience in HMI and PLC programming (preferred, but not required).

  • Climbing stairs, crawling, reaching overhead, lifting or carrying up to 25 lbs, pushing or pulling.
  • Sitting, standing, walking, bending, using hands/arms for repetitive tasks, making decisions, and color discrimination.
  • Eye/hand coordination, talking, hearing, seeing, typing, maintaining focus and stamina, analytical thinking, and problem-solving.
