Packaging Mechanic

Leading manufacturer and supplier of premium quality, good value, over-the-counter (OTC) pharmaceutical products and nutritional supplements is hiring for a Packaging mechanic for their Deer Park facility. education: No Degree Required

• Perform regular preventive maintenance on packaging machines to ensure they operate efficiently and minimize unplanned downtime.
• Inspect, clean, and lubricate machinery as part of routine maintenance procedures.
• Replace worn-out or damaged parts, such as belts, gears, and motors, before they cause equipment failure.
• Adjust settings, calibrate machines, and perform routine tests to maintain packaging quality and machine performance.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic issues on packaging equipment, including filling machines, capping machines, label applicators, and carton formers.
• Quickly respond to equipment malfunctions or breakdowns during production runs to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as production and maintenance, to quickly identify problems and develop solutions.
• Set up packaging machinery for different product runs, ensuring correct configuration for each specific product size, type, and packaging requirements.
• Perform machine changeovers efficiently, adjusting settings and replacing tooling (e.g., molds, dies, or filling nozzles) to accommodate different products or packaging formats.
• Ensure the transition between products or shifts occurs smoothly to maintain production schedules.
