As a Senior Digital Program Manager, you'll provide strategic guidance to project teams as you organize and coordinate one or more Digital programs, manage vendor relationships, and oversee operations progress, ensuring delivery of successful program outcomes.

May mentor or review the work of lower-level professionals.

What is the work?
  • Provides innovative, creative input to business strategy from ground zero; ensures solutions that satisfy enterprise-wide end-to-end business needs, working with a combination of people, process, and / or technology.
  • Addresses strategic goals / problems identified by the business that result in business value; decides on suitable strategies and objectives.
  • Serves as owner of medium sized set of related digital programs; participates in all aspects of assigned programs (planning, budgeting, staffing); analyzes program effectiveness; defines / tracks program success metrics.
  • Creates / maintains program strategies, solutions, and roadmaps; ensures alignment across related roadmaps and the company's strategic goals. Plans the program in detail, oversees completion of and alignment to the component project plans, documents dependencies, and works with resource managers to acquire and schedule resources.
  • Proficient at initiating, planning, and implementing large scale and complex multi-year projects (or oversee multiple small to medium projects) utilizing company methodologies, practices, requirements spanning one or more technical domains.
  • Stays accountable for program success, from inception to delivery; accomplished via cross-functional collaboration and coordination with engineering, design, product management, project management, business partners, software suppliers, and outside consultant resources.
  • Serves as an expert consultant with a keen understanding of market trends, potential solutions, and impacts to other areas of the organization; applies domain expertise and flexes existing processes to maximize outcomes or solutions.
  • Proficient at tracking critical risks and dependencies between project teams, Partners, vendors and other third parties and effectively influences successful dependency resolutions.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders' company-wide to understand business needs from multiple perspectives; focuses on continuous program improvement as business evolves. Manages, accurately documents, and communicates program status and/or roll-up reporting to management and stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Proficiently manages program stakeholders across the business; Controls program quality and success by actively managing issues, the decision process, assessing risks, initiating, and tracking change requests, adding velocity, quality, meeting schedule, deadlines for deliverables, financial planning, and timely completion of program deliverables.
  • Proficient in analyzing and organizing data; builds analyses to understand financial impact of business needs, proposed solutions.
  • Proficient in leveraging established / standardized Program reporting, processes, and standards, sharing organization wide.
  • Serves as an owner for programs crossing multiple business verticals; may execute programs depending on scale and size of work; participates in all aspects of assigned programs (planning, budgeting, staffing); analyzes program effectiveness; construct methods / metrics to identify team successes and failures.
  • Collaborates with the business to build proposals / produce ROI financials plans for executive approval prior to initiating programs.
  • Experience in program governance to keep multiple projects on track and aligned to the appropriate methodologies (i.e., Agile / Lean)
  • Strong experience in managing custom and packaged / SaaS vendor (i.e., AWS, ServiceNow) projects.
What is your background?
  • A bachelor's degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience
  • 7+ years of experience as a Program Manager or experience managing 10-15 medium to complex projects.
  • 7+ years of experience leading / influencing others in developing and aligning on vision and strategy.
  • Experience leading cross-functional technical teams.
  • Experience leading multi-year strategic initiatives.

  • Working experience in a retail environment is ideal.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of performance / process evaluation, change management, project / program management principles and methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of technologies and processes related to technical implementation such as data lake, data warehouses, reporting tools, master data or data management.
  • Working knowledge of program / project management software (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Basecamp, MS Project)
  • Advanced project management skills and experience managing large and complex projects / programs.
  • Advanced leadership and management skills
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong Agile / Lean skills and ability to align deliverable structure and content to the framework.
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Strong verbal / written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple, simultaneous priorities and shift focus between projects while making tradeoff decisions and clearly articulating impact of those decisions.
  • Ability to build / maintain collaborative relationships.
