Delivery Driver Lead
Responsibilities:

- Shift: 1st Shift Full-time - 5am start time
- Schedule: Tuesday-Friday (Saturday, Sunday, and Monday off)
- Local Deliveries - Home Every Night
- Prior touch freight experience is required
- Pay: Starting at $32 per hour
- Off on Major Holidays (8 Total)
- Must be 21 Year of Age
- Must have Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (At least 1yr experience required)

Position Summary:
Along with the regular duties of a driver, assist the supervisor in training new employees. To efficiently deliver the right products to customer accounts, in a professional, safe and timely manner. The Driver Lead position is intended as a development role for individuals working towards becoming a supervisor.The position is focused on serving as a working coach and role model to the delivery team, while maintaining the regular Driver responsibilities when necessary. Driver Lead would serve as a front line coach and trainer for the department, and a leader available for guidance on small daily issues or when a supervisor is not as readily available.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
- Builds and maintains customer relationships
- Learns all company delivery routes and is assigned as needed
- Unloads and checks in orders
- Operated company vehicle in a safe and courteous manner
- Assist in the training and development of delivery Drivers
- Ensures accuracy of daily loads
- Completed required paperwork
- Reports discrepancies and problems to supervisor
- Ensures compliance to all applicable ABC and DOT Rules and Regulations
- Completes daily safely inspection of truck, reports deficiencies to Maintenance department
- Ensures safe loading of truck
- Follows company safety procedures
- Other projects or duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Skills and Experience:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must have at a valid Commercial Class A driver license and maintain an acceptable record in compliance with DOT requirements.
- Must have two (2) years of commercial driving experience.
- Ability to train and demonstrate techniques
- Attention to detail
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and follow safety procedures
- Ability to use hand truck
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience with a handheld ordering device.
- Prior grocery store experience, including stocking, product handling, and local delivery and uploading experience.
- Prior customer service experience preferred.
- Experience in beverage delivery preferred.
