Operations Manager

Resource Label Group is seeking an Operations Manager to join our Franklin, TN team. This position would have departmental managers reporting to them, with responsibilities overseeing the Plate Making, Ink, Press, Finishing, and Shipping/Receiving teams.They will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these functional units. They will directly influence a positive work environment that drives a proactive culture of safety and employee engagement, while providing leadership to the overall operations of the facility.
Responsibilities:
- Confers with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards, develop budget and cost controls and to obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications and delivery dates of products ordered.
- Plans and directs production activities and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
- Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines and equipment.
- Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems.
- Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
- Revises production schedules and priorities as result of equipment failure or operating problems.
- Consults with engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Synthesize complex or diverse information. Collects and researches data, while using intuition and experience to complement data. Design workflows and procedures.
- Generate creative solutions, translating concepts and information into images. Use feedback to modify designs & apply design principles, while demonstrating strong attention to detail.

- Effectively develop and implement cost saving measures. Contribute to profits and revenue and conserve organizational resources.
- Have experience of utilizing Lean Six Sigma tools & techniques.
- Have a minimum 5 years’ experience leading a production team.
- Understand Continuous Improvement principles and can Manage CI projects.
Qualifications:
- A minimum six (6) related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Position may require a Lift Truck Operator’s Certification.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Must have a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Work, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
