Overview:

This is a full-time position dedicated to the support of Zoom connect courses, classrooms, and facilities, primarily during evening hours.

HOURS: Monday – Thursday: 2pm – 11pm (Dinner 6 – 7 pm), Fridays: 9am – 6pm, Saturdays 8am – 12pm (on occasion). These times maybe adjusted slightly from semester to semester.

Responsibilities:

  • Broadcast Support (60%) – Assist classroom facilitators in troubleshooting Internet Video Conferencing (IVC) and Zoom equipment (including Cisco systems, Crestron devices, audio systems, laptops and cameras) and web conferencing applications. Assist at IVC/Zoom events, including those on evenings and weekends, and attend to any problem’s faculty may have. Serve as the primary IVC/Zoom technical support point-of-contact for facilitators and faculty in the evenings.
  • Classroom Maintenance (15%) – Performing regular equipment tests and maintenance in IVC/Zoom classrooms to ensure equipment is working properly. Ensure IVC/Zoom classrooms (mainly those in the Distance Education building) are regularly cleaned (e.g. desks wiped down, whiteboards cleaned, etc…). Assist with classroom installations as needed.
  • Training (15%) – Train facilitators, including new facilitators, and keep online training resources up to date.
  • IVC Material Distribution (5%) – Work with staff in distributing and collecting student classroom materials to approved facilitators and proctors in a secure and professional manner while maintaining student confidentiality and security of materials and exams.
  • Unscheduled Broadcast Facilitation (2.5%) – Serve as facilitator for non-classroom broadcasts (e.g. Provost events, special lectures, etc.) as needed.
  • Facility Support (2.5%) – Assist with the security of facilities and personnel during evening hours (5 – 11 pm).

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree plus two years of experience; or a bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination of education plus experience is required.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with videoconferencing networks and equipment (cameras, projectors, audio systems, etc).
  • Ability to Interact professionally and patiently with students, faculty and administrators while providing a friendly service.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication, analytical skills and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience in H.323 Video Conferencing, Webcasting or Audio Conferencing sectors.
  2. Knowledge of IT networks, firewall systems, gatekeepers, gateways, and MCU’s.
  3. Knowledge of university policy and procedures
  4. Experience with audio/video equipment
  5. Experience with university systems
