Overview:
The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting the firm’s financial reporting and accounting functions. The scope of responsibilities includes, but will not be limited to, aiding in monthly financial close activities, managing accounts payable and employee expense reimbursement processes, providing support during mergers and acquisitions, and identifying opportunities for process enhancements and efficiency gains.
Job Description:
- Collaborate with the accounting team to support various functions such as month-end close, financial reporting, internal controls, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and daily operations.
- Review and accurately code invoices in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Process vendor payments and employee expense reports promptly and accurately.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts.
- Provide support during mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence and integration activities such as merging month-end close duties, evaluating merger firm workstreams for incorporation into existing processes, coordinating vendor onboarding, and transitioning new employee expense reports for reimbursement.
- Prepare reporting packages tailored to the needs of different departments within the organization.
- Prepare monthly reporting materials, including variance analyses, for senior management.
- Provide timely responses and issue resolution to inquiries from stakeholders at all levels, escalating issues as needed.
- Assist Compliance with internal control framework and interpretation of regulatory requirements.
- Support the annual financial statement audit process.
- Special projects or ad-hoc requests, as required.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum three years of accounting experience
- B.S in Accounting or related field of study
- CPA preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated sense of ownership and accountability
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
