We are seeking an Accounting Clerk for our operations based in BRONX, New York. The job function is primarily within the nonprofit sector, and it involves handling various accounting and clerical duties. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity, and it requires on-site work.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with bookkeeping tasks, including billing, accounts payable, and bank reconciliations
  • Utilize FUND E-Z for specific programming tasks
  • Perform clerical duties and maintain accurate customer credit records
  • Process customer credit applications with accuracy and efficiency
  • Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action as needed
  • Resolve customer inquiries promptly and professionally
  • Maintain customer records and ensure up-to-date information
  • Assist with other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the team. • Proficiency in FUND E-Z accounting software
  • Experience in performing clerical duties including filing, answering phone calls, responding to emails, and preparing documents
  • Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
  • High level of accuracy and efficiency
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent data entry skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information
  • Strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
  • Familiarity with financial regulations, i.e., Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
