Job Title: Finance Associate
A nationally acclaimed law firm is actively seeking dynamic Project Finance Associates with 3-5 years of transactional experience in the renewable energy sector. This role, part of the Finance Practice Group and integral to our expanding Energy Sector, offers the opportunity to work on transformative renewable energy projects.Positions are available in major markets including Houston, Los Angeles, Madison, Milwaukee, New York, and Washington, DC.
Key Responsibilities- Transaction Structuring & Negotiation: Lead the drafting, structuring, and negotiation of intricate transaction documents such as credit agreements, tax equity instruments, and other project finance-related contracts.
- Due Diligence: Perform comprehensive due diligence on renewable energy projects, ensuring all aspects comply with regulatory standards while identifying and mitigating potential risks.
- Collaborative Management: Work closely with subject-matter experts to review project documentation and guide transactions through to successful completion.
- Client Advisory: Provide expert counsel on tax credit transactions and renewable energy finance strategies, emphasizing innovative and practical solutions tailored to client needs.
- Strategic Growth: Contribute to the long-term strategic development of the firm's Energy Sector, with a particular focus on expanding its footprint in renewable energy markets.
Requirements
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a seasoned transactional attorney who excels in fast-paced, client-focused environments and is passionate about renewable energy. Essential qualifications include:
- Experience: 3-5 years specializing in renewable energy project finance and/or tax credit transactions, with robust experience in due diligence and managing complex deal structures.
- Expertise: Demonstrated skill in drafting and negotiating financing and tax-related agreements.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, paired with meticulous attention to detail.
- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective engagement with clients, colleagues, and partners.
- Education & Licensing: A JD from an ABA-accredited law school, in good standing with a state Bar, with timely admission to the Bar in the jurisdiction of the hiring office.
