Assistant Director for Quality/Performance Improvement for Patient Care Services
Responsibilities:
The primary purpose of the Assistant Director for Quality/Performance Improvement position is to assist in the development and implementation of the University Hospital Improvement Program. He/she assists unit-based management to operationalize
and transition changes in the care delivery system through skillful directing, coaching, support and delegation to staff in the provision of clinically safe, fiscally sound, compassionate care and services to achieve safety, patient/family goals and patients/family satisfaction.He/she assists unitbased management to sustain the daily operational functioning of the units/service area and makes immediate modifications to prevent impediments, errors and delays in goals achievement. This role assists in the execution of the unit’s services of the Performance Improvement Plan.
The Assistant Director for Quality Performance Improvement facilitates an atmosphere of interactive management and the development of collegial relationships among the nursing personnel and other disciplines. The Assistant Director facilitates change through education, demonstrating skill in implementing practices/changes.He/she collaborates with the Department of Education and Professional Development and assists in the presentations, orientations and other house-wide education and training.
Qualifications:
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey. Master’s degree in administration/education or a related field plus at least two (2) years of related experience is required. Certification in Quality Improvement Techniques is preferred.Must be able to solve complex system problems, write effectively and speak articulately. Equivalent education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the master’s degree requirement
