Café/Concession Manager

Job Summary:

The Scripps Birch Aquarium Cafe is seeking an experienced and motivated Café / Concession Manager to oversee daily operations, manage staff, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. The manager will be responsible for inventory control, scheduling, food safety compliance, and maintaining a fun, efficient, and profitable concession stand.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day operations of Cafe, ensuring smooth and efficient service
• Hire, train, and supervise concession stand staff
• Create and manage employee work schedules to ensure proper coverage
• Monitor food preparation and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
• Maintain inventory levels, order supplies, and reduce waste
• Handle cash management, sales tracking, and financial reporting
• Address customer concerns and ensure excellent service
• Ensure cleanliness, organization, and compliance with all safety standards
• Implement strategies to increase sales and improve overall efficiency
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for timely deliveries
• Assist with marketing promotions and special events as needed
• Cashier duties and responsibilities including Customer Service tasks

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in food service management, hospitality, or a similar role
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
• Basic accounting and cash-handling skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to [weight] lbs

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary: $69,000 - $72,000 per year (based on experience)
