REVIT Designer

Purpose Statement:

This position exists to produce shop drawings that allow the prefabrication shop to produce wall panels, while working to create a seamless client experience.

Essential Functions:

• Read and understand architectural, structural and related contract drawings.
• Review and analyze specifications, blueprints, engineered drawings and related designs.
• Create 3D BIM Revit model for prefabricated wall panels (load bearing and curtain wall framing)
• Create design illustrations based from blueprints to produce working drawings for fabrication.
• Design and prepare drawings for wall panels and related products as required for customer quotes and orders.
• Follow and incorporate CFMS wall panel engineering into wall panel design.
• BIM coordination with other consultants to meet client requirements.
• Communicate with production teams, customers and architects to ensure designs are accurate.
• Develop, track and finalize submittal and field drawing sets based on contract drawings.
• Revise and finalize panel drawings based on architect and/or engineer recommendations.
• Complete and finalize designs for production and assembly.
• Coordinate with prefabrication shop, client, field install crew and other trades (clash detection).

• QC designs to ensure that design standards are being met.
• Export panel properties for cold-rolled forming machine.
• File documentation per department standards including timesheets, emails, contract documents, IFC files, CAD files, Revit files, RFIs, COs…

Required Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Associates degree in architecture, drafting and design or engineering.
• Minimum 3-4 years’ experience with Revit and 1-2 years’ experience in structural or architectural design or some combination of both.
• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, drafting or design or engineering.
• 3+ years’ experience with Revit.
• Knowledge of Bluebeam.
• 1-year experience in structural or architectural design.
• Prior drafting experience.
