Overview:

Tantus Technologies, Inc. (Tantus) - recognized by the Washington Post as a Top Workplace - is seeking a Portfolio Manager to support CMS. You will work closely with our federal counterparts to develop, execute, and promote initiatives that optimize program/portfolio operations, increasing visibility and understanding, while aligning organizational strategy and execution.

You will be responsible for aligning strategic objectives with the backlog refinement process, organizing and facilitating project/program activities, and coordinating information gathering and sharing between internal and external stakeholders.

What You'll Do:

  • Support Program Managers with planning, customer support and process management
  • Participate in developing strategic goals and plans, and ultimately creating and managing Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) across the Portfolio.
  • Develop and socialize dashboards, roadmaps, and reports to track the progress of goals, strategies, and/or OKRs.
  • Lead and facilitate general meetings and knowledge sharing activities.
  • Assist with stakeholder analysis, research activities, and drafting written communications.
  • Work collaboratively to foster and build team relationships among our client, Program/Policy partners, third party entities/contractors and project team members.
  • Report to the client on project status and communicate any delays or changes in project plans, while maintaining project documentation on a weekly or monthly basis.
  • Actively identify, manage, communicate, and mitigate risks and issues.
  • Provide guidance/recommendation to optimize systems, procedures, and processes and develop solutions to make improvements.
  • Serve as strategic partner with CMS and drive programs toward overall strategic objectives.
  • Participate in Agile/Scaled Agile ceremonies, as necessary.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in project management.
  • Federal government agency work experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Self-motivated with extreme attention to detail and ability to adhere to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal communication, writing, and presentation skills required.
  • CMS experience.

Abilities:

  • Ability to combine project management principles with Agile development requirements.
  • Strong listening skills with demonstrated ability to ask effective questions, understand customer priorities and anticipate customer needs.
  • Outstanding organizational and planning abilities.

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience using the Atlassian tools suite (Jira and Confluence)
  • Experience developing and managing OKRs.
  • Project Management and/or Agile certification.

Salary Range:

  • Salary range is $140,000-165,000/year. The salary range for this position reflects a variety of factors that influence compensation decisions, including skills, experience, training, certifications, and organizational needs.
