We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Administrative Assistant in the education sector, based in CARLE PLACE, New York. As an Administrative Assistant, you will be crucial in supporting multiple supervisors through a variety of office and administrative tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Efficiently handle incoming telephone calls and direct them appropriately.
- Welcome and guide visitors, ensuring they are directed to the correct department or individual.
- Undertake word processing tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all written communication.
- Manage and organize filing systems for easy retrieval and record-keeping.
- Handle faxing duties, ensuring all documents are sent and received correctly.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access) to perform tasks such as mail merging, pivot tables, and presentation design.

- Demonstrated experience in an administrative role, preferably within the education sector.
- Thorough understanding of administrative procedures and systems such as record management, data management, etc.
- Skilled in using office software like Microsoft Office (Excel and Word, specifically) and office equipment like printers and fax machines.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- High level of discretion and judgment to manage confidential information.
- Detail-oriented with a problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to manage stressful situations and meet deadlines effectively.
- Familiarity with the education system and its administrative processes would be advantageous.
- Willingness to continue learning and enhancing administrative skills.
