Project Engineer
A Project Engineer is needed for a Swiss multinational manufacturing company for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and nutrition sectors, in the Walkersville, MD area. The Project Engineer supports project execution through scheduling, tracking, coordination, and risk management.

responsibilities: Project Schedule Management- Review contractor-submitted schedules for accuracy, logical sequencing, and alignment with milestones.
- Update the master project schedule with the Project Controller and Construction Manager.
- Identify and escalate schedule risks or conflicts to project leadership.
- Log, track, and coordinate submittal reviews between internal teams, Engineer of Record (EOR), and General Contractor (GC).
- Communicate submittal statuses to stakeholders.
- Maintain submittal records in SharePoint and update the company Submittal Log.
- Track and communicate equipment delivery updates to the project team.
- Coordinate with the Construction Manager, Procurement, and vendors to address delays or discrepancies.
- Ensure receiving documentation is accurate and stored in SharePoint.
- Run SAP reports to track project financials and identify budget variances.
- Monitor InvoiceTrack (IVT) to ensure timely payment processing and escalate issues.
- Document, track, and support the processing of change orders and project change requests.
- Assess cost, schedule, and scope impacts with the Construction Manager and Project Controller.
- Ensure proper documentation and approval tracking.
- Review RFIs for completeness and assign them to appropriate stakeholders.
- Facilitate responses by coordinating with the GC, EOR, and internal teams.
- Maintain a comprehensive RFI log in Microsoft Planner for tracking and reporting.
- Analyze weekly engineering tracker reports to identify trends, risks, and variances.
- Support project forecasting and prepare summaries for bi-weekly review meetings.
- Review contractor payment applications for completeness and accuracy.
- Update the project risk register with identified risks, mitigation plans, and resolutions.
- Align risk updates with schedule and financial forecasts.
- Communicate risk-related changes to the project team.
- Create and manage tasks in Microsoft Planner for procurement tracking and deliverables.
- Maintain accurate records of communication, decisions, and project milestones.
