About the Team:

VIZIO’s rapidly growing Business Development team is looking for a Senior Manager, Business Development. Based in our Irvine office and reporting to the Director of Business Development and Partnerships, the Senior Manager, Business Development will lead our lead deal negotiations for 3rd party application partnerships.

Using a data-based approach, the Senior Manager, Business Development will provide deal valuation, manage deal pipeline, and work closely with other members of the team to drive VIZIO’s 3rd-party application growth strategy.

What You Will Do:

  • Be a deal closer, and will thrive in a high volume, collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Put together strategic partnership proposals across internal verticals, including software, content, advertising, and data. This role requires end-to-end management: from developing a relationship, to developing deal terms, negotiating a contract, and on-going relationship and partnership maintenance post-close.
  • Be able to discuss VIZIO’s business strategy easily and succinctly to team members and senior management with the main goal of driving high level strategic decisions. This is a highly visible role on a dynamic, growing, and high-impact team at VIZIO.

About You:

Required Skills:

  • Exceptional business development and partnership management skills, with a focus on aligning long term objectives between organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate strong relationships with content partners and industry counterparts.
  • Solid cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to build consensus among teams (product, engineering, marketing, sales, finance).
  • A solid understanding of business forecasting and analysis with the ability to evaluate the financial viability of potential business opportunities that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Strong presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other office products.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
  • 5+ years of business development and contract negotiation for content and/or IP in a partner facing role.
  • Previously have held a position at a major network or OEM (device manufacturer) in a similar role.
  • A solid understanding of the streaming industry, market, and digital-distribution landscape, with knowledge of traditional licensing and revenue models for content and application licensing.
  • Experience in redlining term sheets and agreements to be reviewed by counsel as well as the ability to assess recommendations provided by counsel and provide an internal summary.

For California-based employment: The minimum salary for this position is $108,000/year. The maximum salary for this position $216,000/year. In addition to base salary, the compensation package also includes eligibility for an annual bonus, as well as equity and a range of medical, dental, vision and other benefits.
