Program Manager, Periop Services

Position Summary:

This role will be responsible and accountable for managing the business activities throughout perioperative services. The Manager will also have leadership responsibility for the Sterile Process, and Surgical SupplyDepartments.

Master’s degree required.

Licensure/Certification

• Five (5) years of directly related work experience.
• Knowledge of hospital operations.
• Requires superior analytical, project management, critical thinking, problem solving, relationship building, and communication skills.
• Possesses proficient knowledge or Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Epic.

Responsibilities:

• Manages projects and data from the hospital and clinical operation standpoint and understands and engages key stakeholders.
• identifies, proposes, and influences business solutions; negotiates deliverables and requirements that may impact multiple business areas or functions.
• Serves as point person for operational projects and oversees several committees specific to Perioperative Services and its core related areas.
• Provides direction for process improvement activities with nursing management and senior leadership including leading
• Interprets patterns and trends in quantitative and qualitative data to evaluate outcomes of efficiency and operational
• Partners with physician practices and leadership to ensure optimal efficiency and access with Perioperative Services and its core related areas.
• Determines business needs and ensuring agreement between Perioperative Services and physician groups on requirements and timing for project deliverables.
• Provides analytical support, formulate solutions, processes and procedures with the goal of strengthening current state or determining future state business strategies.
• Communicates effectively, including verbal and written communications, and will frequently interact, directly and indirectly, with leaders across the healthcare system.
• Participates in cross-functional teams and operates within different levels of the organization.
• Work autonomously often with limited direction and supervision.
• Ensures operational projects in Perioperative Services and its core related areas are in sync with organizational goals and strategic growth.
• Supports leadership in the development and implementation of capital budgets, cost reduction strategies, block allocation and management, and operating budget development and monthly analysis
• Oversees the operations of the Surgical Supply Department to ensure the right equipment and supplies are available to support an efficient and quality Operating Room
• Oversees the operations of the Sterile Processing Department, to ensure proper implementation of sterile processing services using human and capital resources.
• Employ strategies to promote workplace safety and health in the sterile processing areas.
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
