Job Overview:

The contract Human Resources Manager role with Acrotech Biopharma Inc., is responsible for developing policies, overseeing and implementing HR systems, handling employee relations, ensuring compliance with regulations, managing budgets, full-cycle recruitment, performance and compensation.

This position will support all departments and will report directly into the President of Acrotech.

This is a six-month contract position.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, develop, implement, and administer all HR programs, including recruiting, orientation, separations, performance management, benefits, recognition programs, systems implementation, and compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, reporting and regulations.
  • Partner with corporate recruiter to oversee the recruiting process. This person will also have to step in and manager the full-cycle recruitment process at times. This includes partnering with hiring managers to develop accurate and compliant job descriptions, sourcing talent, organizing the interview process, and all on-boarding or off-boarding activities.
  • Maintain and develop the annual departmental budget in conjunction with Finance and Leadership
  • Collaborate with and be a trusted advisor to senior leaders and managers to address organizational challenges and ensure high-level of engagement and performance
  • Work with managers to identify development needs and monitor growth opportunities and plans for employee population, including a combination of training, coaching, stretch assignments and self-learning
  • Develop and lead annual Performance Management Program, including defining philosophy, timelines, communicating the process and timing to employees and managers, providing necessary support, and creating, executing, and enhancing training to all employees.
  • Ensures our compensation practices continue to attract and reward top talent. Overseeing salary administration to include year-end compensation processes. Performs compensation analysis and makes compensation recommendations related to offers, promotions, LTI and adjustments.
  • Promote a fair and equitable approach to employee relations throughout the company which emphasizes open communication, equal opportunities, and treatment. Responsible for administering and overseeing overall complaints and resolutions. When escalation is required, seeks consultation from Legal.
  • Generate and maintain employee reports and HR metrics as needed.

Qualifications - Skills & Requirements:

  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills and ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Effective in operating in a collaborative, fast paced environment
  • Key skills and abilities include multi-tasking, detail oriented, emotional intelligence, customer-service oriented
  • Build effective partnerships with leaders, managers, and individual contributors across the teams.
  • Solid understanding of organizational policies, procedures, and practices as well as current state and federal labor and employment laws.
  • Must be legally able to work in the US without requiring sponsorship.
  • Must have reliable transportation and must be able to work overtime when required.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of progressive Human Resources experience
  • Prior experience working in the life sciences industry, preferably in small to mid-sized biotech companies
  • Experience supporting remote employees throughout the U.S.

Physical Requirements: OFFICE POSITION

  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to:
  • Stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard reach, stoop kneel to install computer equipment
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work
  • Light to moderate lifting is required
  • Moderate noise (i.e.
business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic).
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time Sedentary work Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.

Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
