Job Description
The Quality Engineer (defense manufacturing) will- Perform product inspections to ensure compliance, including receiving, in-process, and final inspections on-site at our Greenwich facility.
- Evaluate supplied materials and components for quality conformance.
- Document inspection results, maintain logs, and input data into the quality database.
- Manage and maintain the FAA Repair Manual in accordance with regulations.
- Support internal and external audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Assist in maintaining and improving the company's Quality Management System.
- Create and manage First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR).
- Contact vendors to obtain certifications and follow up on corrective actions.
- Monitor and manage expiration-sensitive materials such as adhesives and inks.
- Serve as a liaison between inspectors and management, providing leadership support.
- Identify and recommend corrective and preventive actions to improve processes and product quality.
- Summarize and track rework and waste for continuous improvement efforts.

The Successful Applicant- 3-5 years of experience in quality control inspection/ quality engineer role within a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, AS9100).
- Experience communicating with auditors and supporting internal/external audits.
- Hands-on experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in aerospace, defense, or FAA-regulated industries.
- Knowledge of FAA, DOD, and First Article Inspection (FAI) requirements is a plus.
- Ability to serve as a liaison between inspectors and management, demonstrating leadership skills.
- General understanding of core quality system requirements and compliance processes.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to assess product conformance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and quality-related databases.
- Good arithmetic skills for accurate inspection and documentation.
- On-the-job training (OTJ) experience with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across teams and with auditors.
- Local to Greenwich, CT.
