YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
  • HS diploma or GED required.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technical, or related degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of melt shop experience required and preferred casting experience.
  • Exposure to standardization and production quality methods in a leadership role.
  • Previous experience in a leadership position required and the ability to train people and serve as a coach to employees.
  • Must possess good communication skills, have the ability to articulate ideas, give feedback, resolve conflicts, and point out areas where improvement is needed, as well as the ability to develop a positive relationship with employees in order to develop credibility.
  • Must be results-oriented and have the ability to motivate others

YOUR PURPOSE

You will be responsible for the casting side of the melt shop production area including the mold shop. This role has 4 direct reports, but will oversee approximately 24 hourly employees, 4 shift supervisors and contractors. The Casting Foreman will assist the Melt Shop Superintendent, directing and guiding shift supervisors to ensure a safe, well kept, and highly productive working environment.

This position will report to the Melt Shop Superintendent.

YOUR WORK
  • Must be able to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
  • Must be able to display a high level of proactivity, determination and discipline, as well as working in a highly connected team environment.
  • Will assist in the overall growth and development of the Melt Shop Team and will work with other areas to ensure consistency and long-term success.
  • Will promote a culture of ownership, engagement, teamwork and innovation to drive continuous improvement, always leading by example.
  • Will serve as a resource for the operating crews and will establish expectations, develop best practices for the area, and ensure consistency. Will select, train, evaluate, discipline, and engage personnel.
  • Will advise and instruct shift supervisors and hourly employees on objectives or issues regarding schedules, methods, standards, materials, quality, shipping, equipment, tooling, safety, cost, discipline, personnel policies, testing/trials, environmental practices and procedures, or other matters affecting area of responsibility.
  • Will be responsible for several performance KPI’s and for conducting crew meetings and planned general inspections.
  • Will ensure training and implementation of Quality Airplane methodology and quality tools in the decision-making process.
  • Will stablish work schedules for the melting side.
