[ref. e7179916] Williamsport - Summer, Lead Facilities Technician, Part-time
Overview:
This person will assist with all aspects of maintenance throughout College facilities. Occasional overtime often on short notice may be required. This position works 18-20 hours during the Academic Calendar and can work up to 37.5 hours during summer only. This person will provide daily direction to the Facilities Technicians (CPT).
This position qualifies for summer on-campus housing, which will be considered a taxable benefit. Students must adhere to all Residence Life policies and guidelines while living on campus.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent. Preferred
- Valid and in State Valid Driver's License. Required
- Two (2) years full-time experience as a painter in industrial, commercial, or residential buildings. Preferred
- Extensive experience in industrial and institutional environment. Preferred
- Experience in general maintenance duties, such as electrical, carpentry, plumbing and HVAC. Preferred
- Knowledge of chemical reactions from all types of paints, varnishes, and solvents that may be used on various faces. Required
- Ability to read, write and interpret instructions. Required
- Must be able to work on assignments with little supervision. Required
- Possession of a valid driver's license. Required
Responsibilities:
- Lead Responsibilities:
- Provide daily direction to the Facilities Technicians.
- Assist with scheduling and quality control of Facility Technicians work.
- Support maintaining and stocking warehouse of critical equipment and material.
- Attend meetings with or in the absence of Management.
- Facilities Technician Responsibilities:
- Prepare, sand, prime paint, and finish paint on: wood, concrete, plaster, sheetrock, and steel surfaces.
- Mix oil base and latex paints by hand.
- Assist other General Services personnel in completing work.
- Ability to keep a safe and clean workspace.
- Perform drywall repairs and finishing.
Physical Standards and Special Job Features:
- Set-up, climb, and work from ladders and scaffolding.
- Exposure to dust, paint fumes, and harsh chemicals.
- May travel between buildings during shift.
- Lifting 65 lbs. maximum, without assistance, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects up to 50 lbs.
- Work in extreme weather and temperature conditions.
- Top preferences for summer employment opportunities will be given to qualified applicants who are full-time Penn College students before other applicant s are considered in the selection process. Second preferences shall be given to applicants who are qualified employee dependents (sons/daughters), with the third and final consideration to all other qualified applicants in the pool.
Pay Transparency: $18.98 per hour.
