Overview:

Provides pharmaceutical care to all patients consistent with the goals and objectives of the hospital and the pharmacy department. In providing this care, the pharmacist must review all drug orders and judge the appropriateness of those orders, i.e. appropriate drug, dose, frequency, etc. Drug related problems, such as potential allergic reactions, drug interactions and other problems, must be identified and resolved.

The pharmacist must also oversee the activities of supportive personnel working in the area. Pharmacists are expected to focus the full potential of their knowledge and experience on the assessment and improvement of patient care.

If you are selected for this position, you will be asked to supply your immunization records as proof of vaccination.

If you and have any concerns about receiving these vaccines, medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and dispenses medication orders per physician request according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Contributes to the quality and effective operation of the department.
  • Ensures safe, appropriate, cost effective medication therapies for patients according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Maintains competence required for current job title/position.

Qualifications:

  • Other Degree in pharmacy from an accredited school and 1-2 years experience Previous experience in a meds to beds program or 2 years of retail pharmacy experience.
  • Licensed Pharmacist - MO
  • Licensed Pharmacist - KS
  • Employees must obtain Licensed Pharmacist - MO or equivalent within 90 days
  • Employees must obtain Licensed Pharmacist - KS or equivalent within 90 days

Starting Pay:

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $57.81/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

Remote Work/Work from Home:

This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
