We currently have an immediate opportunity for an Engineering Support Technician in our Whitby Head Office Location.

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking an energetic, organized, and motivated Engineering Support Technician to provide field-level assistance to our Field Sales staff and customers and to provide satellite support for projects across the country. You will work actively within our internal team to deliver solutions, technical support, and troubleshooting.

Job Responsibilities will include:

  • Ability to build and maintain effective and professional working relationship with the project workforce, Territory managers, project managers, owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors.
  • Research, troubleshoot and identify solutions to resolve project or customer issues
  • Support field sales staff on new products and technically challenging projects
  • Assisting with training of new hire TM’s through practical demonstrations and “hands on” tutoring.
  • Communicate project status to internal team

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Diploma in Civil, Chemical or Construction engineering or completed an Engineering Degree.
  • Project Management Professional would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to read Blueprints/drawing
  • Exception report writing and investigative skills
  • Ability to do CAD drafting and design work
  • Construction experience considered an asset
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication and Team work skills
  • Epoxy coating’s preparation & application experience considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with power tools and machinery
  • Commitment to safety rules
  • Must have own means of transportation with valid drivers license
  • Excellent English written and oral skills. (Bilingual in French considered an asset)
  • Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel etc.
  • Personal Characteristics: Physically capable, detail oriented, results driven, team player, self-starter.

Job Type:

  • Full-Time, Permanent
  • This is an in-office position, generally from 8:30-5:00 but there is an opportunity to travel to different projects across the country as well as various local projects.
  • Occasional overtime may be required.
  • Occasional weekend and evening work – specific identified projects often dictate the hours
