JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY
Summary of Position:
- The Recovery Services Coordinator provides leadership, daily supervision and oversight to the Center's team of peer recovery specialists, case managers and recovery coaches serving clients at our outpatient center and at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
- The Coordinator will balance clinical, administrative and supervisory duties by serving on a multi-disciplinary team within the substance use treatment division, guiding and developing staff members, and providing education and support to clients, family members and others impacted by substance use disorder and overdose reversal.
- Oversees the daily functioning and operations of a service delivery model for harm-reduction, referral to SUD treatment with medication assisted treatment services, and recovery support services embedded at UTMC and at the outpatient center.
- Able to coordinate programming to ensure services are delivered, documented, and that data is collected, reviewed and reported accurately within required time frames of all funding sources.
- Maintains positive connections to team members, and to internal and external stakeholders and referral sources to ensure client experience and HRMC communication is seamless and productive.
- Fosters positive relationship with community partner and with all stakeholders.
- Has excellent verbal, written and computer skills.
- Must be legally able to operate and willing to use personal vehicle in the performance of job-related duties.
- This position will maintain an office at the SUD division's outpatient facility and will be required on site at UTMC several days per week to support the UT/McNabb Bridge program team. This position will also require advocacy efforts and services provision in that community as needed.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provides oversight to ensure quality service provision in SUD division programs:
- Responsible for overseeing programs with required federal, state, local and agency outcome measures.
- Liaisons with internal leadership and leadership at partner locations in local and remote areas.
- Manages programs clinically and administratively to ensure efficiency, compliance and quality care through sustainable workflows, data reports and positive clinical outcomes.
- Evidences ability to exercise sound judgment and effective decision-making and demonstrates non-judgmental support 1:1 with individuals around substance use disorder, medication assisted treatment and harm reduction.
- Oversees and supports the work of team members ensuring schedules meet workload demands; Provides and/or arranges front-line coverage to ensure continuity of clinical care during vacancies, staff vacations and other times when additional program support is needed.
- Monitors TN-WITS, Centricity, UTMC EMR entry and ensure all required documents are entered within required time frames.
- Trains and supervises Team Leaders, Certified Peer Recovery Specialists and Recovery Coaches and provides CPRS supervision for the division's peers.
- Uses and models to team members approved best practice strategies and/or industry standards of care for all service delivery.
- Uses and models and a pro-active and solution focused problem solving for staff when encountering programmatic barriers.
- Provides effective, ethical leadership ensuring team members are supported and able to grow professionally and develop needed skills.
- Ensures programmatic compliance with administrative, regulatory and funding source requirements:
- Ensures that documentation is completed accurately within required time frames- including, but not limited to Releases of Information, consents, referrals, and notes within TnWITS, internal EMR or other record as assigned.
- Ensures that the Government Performance and Results (GPRAs) are completed at three required intervals with program participants with an overall completion rate of 80% or greater.
- Develops and completes spreadsheets, logs, scheduling, follow up and any other required or requested tools to ensure compliance with program requirements and responsibilities.
- Collects and reports data ensuring program evaluation, Quality Assurance and Improvement indicators and client satisfaction are regularly and accurately reflected.
- Keeps all private and/or confidential information in secure location or in approved locked HRMC bags and follows HIPAA and 42CFRPart2 regulations in all circumstances.
- Functions as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and fosters a positive team atmosphere:
- Present professionally and works effectively within multi-disciplinary teams as a positive HRMC and community ambassador representing client, program and agency.
- Sets, maintains and demonstrates to supervisees, co-workers and all partners/stakeholders, appropriate professional boundaries for quality service delivery and healthy self-care.
- Must be punctual, maintain good attendance and evidence the ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others.
COMPENSATION:
- Starting salary for this position is approximately $20.13 /hr based on relevant experience and education.
Schedule:
- This position is expected to work 40 hours per week.
- Typical hours are 8 am-5 pm, with flexibility for work outside of those hours to meet the needs of the program.
- In-person daily attendance essential for this position.
Travel:
- Must have an f-endorsement and be able to legally operate personal vehicle during the performance of job duties.
- This position requires travel to counties served in this program during the day, not necessarily overnight.
- This position may require transportation of clients in personal vehicle.
Equipment/Technical Competency:
- Computer expertise is required as timesheets, training modules, email and some program documentations are computer and/or web based.
- Must have experience using excel, word, and outlook.
QUALIFICATIONS - Recovery Services Program Coordinator
Experience / Knowledge:
- The ideal candidate has previous experience in the field of behavioral health and management experience or ability to develop and apply core management skills.
- Should have broad knowledge and understanding of Medication Assisted Treatment, Motivational Interviewing, stages of change, harm reduction, 12-step and other Recovery Support services and best practices regarding substance use disorder treatment and recovery.
- Experience working with special populations including individuals with mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders and extensive knowledge of community resources/referrals is required.
- Experience working in a community or hospital setting is preferred.
- Regular attendance on site is an essential job function.
- Position will require an F-endorsement, as transportation for clients is provided in the program.
- Must be able to share your lived experience, strength and hope while maintaining and modeling professional standards for the Recovery Services team.
- Must practice unconditional positive regard toward persons and families who have experienced substance use disorders.
Education / License:
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, Human Development, Social Work or other related field.
- Peer Recovery Specialist Certification preferred.
- Must have coursework and/or experience and understanding in the areas of cultural diversity, human development, and treatment of substance use disorder, trauma-informed care, overdose reversal, suicide prevention and crisis intervention/referral.
Physical/Emotional/Social - Skills/Abilities:
- Possible exposure to biological hazards.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Pushing/pulling up to 150 lbs.
- Requires Handle with Care and CPR training (on site).
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
