Our client is a global private equity firm investing within the AI technology space. They have 100 employees globally and will have 20 US (Manhattan, NY) based employees.

Job Description

Responsibilities of the Director, HR Business Partner include:

  • Employee relations: Managing the relationship between the firm & its employees, addressing issues such as workplace conflicts, grievances, and disciplinary actions.
  • Performance management: Partner in the process of ensuring that employees' activities and outputs align with the organization's goals, including setting performance expectations, monitoring progress, and providing feedback.
  • Employee experience: Contribute to all aspects of an employee's journey within the organization, from recruitment to exit, aiming to create a positive and engaging work environment.
  • Talent management: Attracting, developing, retaining, and utilizing employees with the necessary skills and aptitude to meet current and future organizational needs.
  • Employee onboarding & offboarding: This Integrating new employees into the organization and ensuring a smooth transition when employees leave, including orientation, training, and exit interviews.
  • DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion): Partnering to create a workplace that values and respects differences, promotes equal opportunities, and fosters an inclusive environment for all employees.
  • Labor law compliance: Ensuring that the organization adheres to all relevant employment laws and regulations
  • Compensation & benefits: Contributing to and ensuring adherence in managing employee remuneration packages, such as salaries, STIs, LTIs, health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
  • Reporting & analytics: Collecting, analyzing, and presenting data related to HR metrics, such as employee turnover, engagement, and performance, to inform decision-making and strategy.
  • Culture: Contributing to build a culture of shared values, beliefs, and behaviors that shape the work environment and influence how employees interact and perform their jobs.
  • Relationship/ Stakeholder Management: Internally with the wider team and also externally with the PEO

The Successful Applicant

Qualifications of the Director, HR Business Partner include:

  • A bachelor's degree with a strong GPA; SHRM/ equivalent qualification is advantageous to have while an MBA is preferred
  • A total of 12-15 years of experience within human resources, with more recent experience in a more strategic role
  • At least 5+ years of experience in the private equity or investment management (financial services) sector - ability to demonstrate a strong understanding of our sector & industry trends
  • Ability to lead projects/ initiatives; ability to contribute independently & as part of a team
  • Ability to influence with data & insights
  • Ability to perform with humility, with a customer-first mindset
  • Ability to perform with integrity and as a trusted right-hand to the executives

What's on Offer
  • Base salary range $200,000 - $230,000 + 50% bonus
