Overview:
The Agreement between the United States of America, Mexico, and Canada (USMCA) is a freetrade agreement between the United States Mexico, and China.
Background:
The United States, Mexico, and Canada updated NAFTA to create the new USMCA. USMCA is mutually beneficial for North American workers, farmers, ranchers, and businesses
Responsibilities:
This position will be working directly with the Office of General Counsel (OGC).- Assisting attorneys in legal investigations regarding labor rights issues in Mexico, including:
- Participating in meetings with workers, providing interpretation as needed
- Maintaining case files, including translating and organizing evidence supporting labor-related investigations.
- Reviewing and drafting summaries of evidence.
- Conducting online research regarding labor issues in Mexico
- Conducting an initial review of online tips regarding potential labor law violations in Mexico
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in both English and Spanish, with the ability to perform all tasks in both languages.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a business, legal, labor, or related environment.
- Familiarity with labor issues (preferred but not required).
- Background in legal research and analysis (preferred but not required).
- Ability to successfully complete a drug test within the first 10 days of employment.
Education:
- BA/BS in a related field such as, but not limited to, business, economics, industrial/labor relations, etc.
