Our client has been in business for over 70 years and has four locations down the east coast. They specialize in partnering with OEMs of the Aerospace Industry on Precison components.

Job Description

The key responsibilities of the Quality Engineer are:

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct First Article Inspections (FAIR), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), and root cause analysis (RCCA) to resolve any quality-related issues.
  • Develop and implement special process qualifications to ensure products meet industry standards.
  • Support the validation of manufacturing processes and ensure adherence to aerospace industry regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and engineering, to ensure quality requirements are met.
  • Ensure products comply with all relevant quality standards, including AS9100 and ISO 9001:2015.
  • Monitor and report on quality metrics, ensuring timely identification and resolution of non-conformances.
  • Provide training and support to team members on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Conduct internal audits and prepare for external audits to ensure compliance with industry certifications and standards.
  • Assist in the development and review of quality documentation, including inspection procedures, process flows, and reports.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Quality Engineer candidate will have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of GD&T concepts and experience with SPC/Six Sigma tools (Greenbelt/Blackbelt preferred)
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities and a wide degree of creativity
  • Experience maintaining AS9100/ISO9001 quality standards
  • Working knowledge of inspection methods and/or aerospace manufacturing
  • CMM experience preferred (PC-DMIS preferred)
