Epic Patient Access
Your financial counseling and insurance verification skill sets will be crucial in identifying and communicating payer authorizations and referral requirements, determining patient financial responsibilities, and notifying patients or guardians when necessary.
salary: $17.5 - $21 per hourshift: First

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Work independently to complete assignments without close supervision.
- Improve inefficiencies and minimize repetitive errors by optimizing workflow processes.
- Identify the cause of problems and develop appropriate solutions using logical reasoning.
- Communicate insurance benefits and patient liabilities clearly using effective communication methods and styles.
- Use online payer verification systems to obtain and validate insurance information promptly and accurately.
- Collaborate with other departments to assist or transport patients/visitors needing special attention or support.
- Interview patients to secure and document necessary medical, financial, demographic, and insurance information.
- Educate and assist patients in completing applications for alternative payment sources (e.g., medical assistance programs, loans, grants).
- Report safety hazards/violations and take action to protect guests until help arrives if necessary.
- Notify patients, staff, physicians, and patient representatives of scheduling changes promptly and professionally.
Requirements:
- 1 year of customer service or medical setting experience, OR an Associate's degree in lieu of experience.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience with Epic (preferred but not required).
- MUST BE ABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS (Every Other Weekend)
