Financial Analyst / Accountant

We are looking for an experienced contract Financial Analyst / Accountant with strong accounting skills to support financial operations and analysis in a remote capacity. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys balancing analytics, financial reporting, and accounting, while also leveraging advanced technology solutions such as automation tools, Tableau, and Excel.

As a Financial Analyst, you will play an integral role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, month-end close processes, and accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) management. This is a 6-month contract position with the potential for extension or future opportunities.

• Accounting Support: Assist with month-end close, journal entries, accruals, and prepayments to ensure accuracy in financial statements.
• Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR): Perform reconciliations, monitor payment schedules, and address discrepancies for efficient operations.
• Financial Statement Reconciliation: Ensure alignment between the general ledger and financial reports. Reconcile balance sheet accounts to identify discrepancies and ensure data accuracy.
• Data Analysis: Utilize Tableau dashboards and tools to create visually compelling financial reports, leveraging key insights to drive business decisions.
• Excel Expertise: Build and maintain advanced Excel models, utilizing pivot tables, macros, and other functions to streamline reporting and analysis.
• Process Automation: Identify opportunities for workflow optimization in accounting and financial processes by utilizing automation tools and technologies for increased efficiency.
• Collaboration with Finance Team: Partner with cross-functional teams to analyze data and support financial planning processes.
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS), and company policies.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred).
• A minimum of 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or a similar role.
• Hands-on experience with month-end close, AP, and AR operations, and financial statement reconciliation.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, macros).
• Expertise in Tableau for data visualization and reporting.
• Strong aptitude for technology and experience with process automation tools (e.g., Power Automate, Alteryx, UI Path).
• Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite) is a strong plus.
• Analytical Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with team members and present insights to stakeholders.
• Work Style: Self-motivated, disciplined, and comfortable working in a fully remote environment with minimal supervision.
