What You'll Do::

The Construction Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, budgeting, and execution of campus construction projects. This role ensures project feasibility, cost efficiency, and adherence to institutional goals while maintaining high-quality standards and compliance with regulations.

Essential responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Estimation
  • Develop and manage cost estimates, schedules (MS Project), and procurement plans for campus construction projects, considering materials, labor, and logistics.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to review plans and project scopes.
  • Project Execution and Quality Control
  • Conduct site visits to assess progress, enforce quality control, and ensure compliance.
  • Identify risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Contract Management and Procurement
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors, ensuring cost efficiency and quality.
  • Efficiently track and report progress, leveraging construction management software.
  • Documentation and Project Closeout
  • Manage all project documentation.
  • Facilitate project closeout procedures, including punch list completion, final inspections, and handover documentation.

What We Need From You::

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in construction project management, preferably in higher education, healthcare, or commercial real estate.
  • Strong experience in hiring, negotiating, and managing relationships with general contractors, architects, engineers, and specialty consultants.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including senior leadership, facilities teams, and academic staff.
  • Proven track record of managing and delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, or equivalent PM software

Nice to have:

  • Experience managing tenant improvements (TIs), ground-up construction, and renovations in an educational or healthcare setting is preferred.
