Associate Scientist, Immunotherapy

Job Scope & Purpose:

Our greater Boston based client is looking for an Associate Scientist, Immunotherapy to join their team. Extensive T cell related experience is the key requirement here but broad cell and molecular experience is also very important. Please reach out and apply if you are ready to advance your career!

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • The individual will work in the laboratory and be responsible for experimental execution and data analysis of research experiments for the genetic modification of primary human T cells
  • Expansion and maintenance of gene modified T cell cultures
  • Employ genetic modification of human T cells with chimeric antigen receptors (CARs) and T cell receptors (TCRs)
  • Independent and capable of characterizing genetically modified primary T lymphocytes using standard immunological assays including flow cytometry and cytokine profiling
  • Develop methods for key in vitro and ex vivo assays
  • Compile and present research data to functional teams
  • Maintain a lab notebook and contribute to support documentation when necessary
  • Provide critical lab support while working in a collaborative team environment

Primary Job Requirements:

  • BS/MS in Immunology, Molecular Biology or similar with 2+ years of industry experience. Cancer immunology is a plus.
  • Expertise in mammalian and T cell culture is necessary
  • Demonstrated experience with standard immunological assays is required
  • Direct experience with T cell culture and techniques to characterize T cells including phenotype, cytokine analysis, cytotoxicity, and proliferation assays is preferred
  • Understanding of safe lab practices and BSL requirements
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and technically competent
  • Highly adaptable and responsive, and committed to completing tasks in a timely fashion
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a dynamic environment as a team player with a strong work ethic
  • Able to maintain written records in the form of laboratory notebooks (paper or electronic)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills including experience including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Graphpad Prism. FlowJo is a plus.
  • Capable of critical thinking and problem solving
