Objective:
The Capital Markets Analyst is responsible for supporting both the syndication/participation, and the customer derivatives function which comprise the Capital Markets Group. The role will assist and support with pitching, marketing and managing commercial, real estate, and specialty finance credit transactions, and managing lead bank activities including deal site management, syndicated portfolio tracking, as well as maintenance of a lender database.The role assists in the quoting and delivery of derivative products to customers to enhance the growth of this area. *Hybrid Position*

Responsibilities/Duties:
- In partnership with supervisor oversight, assist in the launch and management of the loan syndication or participation process including writing Confidential Information Memoranda (CIMs) and teasers detailing client and transaction related fundamental information including merits/risks/mitigants, Term Sheets.
- Assist in the process of screening and approval of incoming participation transactions from third party institutions. Interface with internal lending team members to assure expedient processing of the opportunity through the Bank’s approval and closing process.
- Interface with the internal transaction team (supervisor, team leader, relationship manager (RM) and portfolio manager) to assist in the coordination and execution of transactions and to effectively meet deal timelines.
- Track, answer or coordinate answers to transaction questions from third-party lenders in consultation with the transaction team.
- Develop business and credit judgment as well as provide balanced assessments in working with internal team members and partners.
- Assist with the maintenance and updating of the Group’s pipeline.
- Perform tasks including obtaining investor commitments, and assisting in negotiating, communicating and finalizing transaction-related legal documentation and in the closing process.
- Manage and launch data room sites for active transactions for existing and new syndicated and participated loans. Learn web-based syndication platform capabilities and be creative in the use of its features for efficient transaction marketing and tracking. Maintain lender database with current lender typical hold limits, areas of industry focus and general credit appetite of these institutions.
- With supervisor oversight, assist in providing customer derivative quotes to relationship managers.
- Assist in the qualification of customer derivative counterparties, issuance of ISDA documents and coordination of ISDA document execution.
- Prepare and submit cases in Salesforce to Loan Operations for the proper set up of executed derivatives and processing of funds to be received and paid.
- Be familiar with Firstrust syndication and participation loan documentation
- Understand transactions needing to be syndicated or participated in order to market the opportunity to potential investors.
- Be familiar with the uses of derivatives for CRE, C & I and specialty finance transactions and be proficient in identifying ways Firstrust can provide such derivatives on new and existing credit opportunities.

Essential Functions:
While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee will need to move about from floor to floor to retrieve items. A majority of these positions require sedentary work, sitting most of the time. The employee will be required to prepare and analyze data and figures and operate a computer terminal using repetitive motion.
Knowledge - Skills & Abilities:
- BS in Accounting or Finance Required.
- Minimum two years of experience working in a bank lending environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) with strong skills in creating spreadsheets, data analysis, and detailed presentations. Demonstrated ability to apply judgment, take initiative, handle multiple priorities, and work under general supervision
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to interface with all levels of internal management and external parties.
