Tax Manager - Public

You will be the Internal expert responsible for managing tax reporting, compliance, audits, optimization, and tax planning functions. We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to deal effectively with clients and management.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the accuracy of tax returns and oversee all aspects of the Company’s tax obligations for various types of entities including C- Corporations, S-Corporations, Partnerships, and HNW Individuals
• Prepare and review supporting schedules for completion of income tax returns
• Review monthly Payroll for business clients
• Review QBO on a monthly, preferred; Quarterly a must for various clients; Work with the bookkeeper/accounting to maintain viable financial books and records for the clients and ease of tax preparation into the next year
• Manage various tax audits and respond to federal and state agencies inquiries and tax notices on behalf of clients and the company
• Prepare AJE and TAJE’s for client books
• Perform research on various tax issues including federal and state income taxes
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a public tax management role
• Proficiency in annual income tax provision
• Demonstrated experience in compliance
• Expertise in entity formation
• Familiarity with tax planning strategies
• Experience in preparing fiduciary income tax returns
• Ability to complete individual tax returns
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Familiarity with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
